Congratulations to the reciting party who came second in the Urdd eisteddfod recently. The group of children performing the drama were highly commended as well as another pupil who performed her recital individually.

Children in Ysgol Sarn Bach wore red clothes and told jokes on red nose day this year. They succeeded to raise £43 - well done!

Foundation Phase visit to the Lloyd George Museum today. The children learnt a lot about life in the olden days and enjoyed the visit very much!

Pudsey`s paws

The children and staff brought loose change to school and placed it on Pudsey`s paws,they succeeded to raise £120.54 !! Well done!

Pawen Lawen

The children have been bust raising money for Children in Need this week by wearing their own clothes today and pyjamas as well as filling 33 Pusey paws with spare change !! ...... total to follow, thank you to all who have supported this week. Also, the children have taken part in Aled Hughes` "Pawen Lawen" , the video can be seen on his "Facebook " page. |

Foundation Phase children making jam

Foundation Phase children making their own jam as part of their Business venture project this term. They intend to buy new footballs and books with any profit made ! Thank you to everyone who has ordered jam, it will also be for sale in our Christmas Fair this year. |
Cyfnod Allweddol 2 - Jam Tasting

Carol from the company "Welsh Preserves visited the Foundation Phase children in order to show them how to make jam. The children enjoyed tasting a fresh blackberry jam sandwich! The children will soon be making their own jam which will be for sale to you! |

Key Stage 2 - Studying and Building

Key Stage 2 children have been studying and building their own bridges . Following this work they had a fantastic opportunity to build a huge model bridge in the village hall. |
Triathlon
 |
We had glorious weather for our annual triathlon this year and it was lovely to see all the children so enthusiastic during the swimming, cycling and running. It was great to see the children giving it their all and the parents there to support. We has a prize giving ceremony back at school and all that had taken part received a medal for their efforts. Thank you to Ganolfan Hamdden Dwyfor and Glasfryn for their hospitality and a special thanks to Sian and Jocelyn for their hard work arranging the triathlon again this year.

Foel Farm

With the glorious weather continuing the children of the Foundation Phase when on a trip to Foel Farm in Brynsiencyn to experience the thrill of bottle feeding lambs and goats, petting rabbits, a farm walk and a tractor ride to see Toffee the Shire horse. we had a lovely day and it was great to see our friends from Ysgol Abersoch for the day.

CiTV came to Ysgol Sarn Bach to produce a programme ‘Inventoons’ which will be broadcast on the programme soon. |
Johnny Akinyemi
 |
Today Olympic canoeist Johnny Akinymeni came to our school. The 25 year old came to show video of him canoeing in the Olympics and in qualifying.
He showed us his kit and equipment. All the children were filled with questions to ask him.

He competes for Nigeria in all the competitions. He has won several competitions including the African Slalom championship. Johnny is competing in the 2016 Olympics in Rio and his qualifiers start next year. He changed his allegiances to Nigeria from Great Britain.

Wash Day

Malcolm Allen’s Visit

The footballer and commentator, Malcolm Allen, visited the school to talk about his life as a young boy in Deiniolen who left home to pursue his dream.
He was fortunate in being able to return to Wales to make a good living by speaking Welsh.

Nia Ben Aur

Glan Llyn
Children from years 3,4 and 5 enjoyed outside activities in Glan Llyn from canoeing to climbing.
Triathlon
The children were sponsored to take part in a school triathlon. We collected £1,725 to buy i pads. We had a fantastic day, swimming first at the Leisure Centre and running and cycling at Glasfryn Parc. Medals were given to the children at the school and they had some refreshments provided by the local Merched y Wawr.
Cardiff

Children from year 6 went on a three day educational trip to Cardiff. They visited Sain Ffagan, Techniquest and the Welsh Assembly. |

Ynys Enlli - Bardsey Island

Year 5 and 6 went on a trip to Bardsey Island for the day with Elfed Griffiths our guide for the day. We had a good day.

Welsh Mountain Zoo Colwyn Bay
Our end of term trip this year was visiting Welsh Mountain Zoo Colwyn Bay. We had fun looking at the monkeys, penguins and a lot more.
